Angela Davidson Animal Art

Creating artwork of animals is one of Scottish artist Angela Davidson's passions. Artwork of cattle was Angela's original focus, with close-up studies of cows, calves and her most famous bull painting, The Black Angus, being created in 2009. This original pastel was followed a few years later by another Aberdeen Angus bull painting: Mr A. Both original images were reproduced as limited edition fine art prints, which quickly sold out. Large copies of these now very rare giclee prints sell today for thousands of pounds.

The incredible success of these earlier cattle paintings gained Angela a commission from the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association, and a large copy of that original artwork now hangs in the Association's main building in Alberta, flanked by similar sized pictures of The Black Angus and Mr A. Angela was also commissioned by Britain's own Beef Shorthorn Society to create an artwork to commemorate their 200^th year as a society, and the original piece was presented to HRH Princess Anne in 2022.

Fine art prints of Highland cattle are another of Angela's strong sellers. One of her studies, High Fibre, features a Highland cow which was created after an invitation to visit late Queen Elizabeth's Highland cattle herd at Balmoral.

Clydesdale horses are another of Angela's favourites. Her heavy horse range of prints are always popular with her equine art-buying customers.

Bespoke commission work consumes a large amount of Angela's year. Her detailed and incredibly accurate portraiture of horses and dogs makes her personalised artwork greatly sought after.
